New canning line
Ziwi Pets required a flexible end-of-line packing solution for their new canning line. By implementing a Meypack case packing system capable of handling multiple can sizes and pack formats, Ziwi Pets has now a flexible and scalable long-term solution.
The project
Ziwi Pets is a pet foods manufacturer from New Zealand known for its 100% natural cat and dog food. They were building a new factory in Napier, New Zealand in 2022 and required an end-of-line packing solution for their new can line.

- Flexible: capable of packing varying sizes and formats of food cans
- Scalable: support current production demands and long-term growth
We implemented a Meypack case packing solution for Ziwi Pets’ 73 mm pet food cans.
The solution included:
- Flexibility to handle can sizes varying from 35mm, 57mm and 110mm high
- Packing formats ranging from 3×2 in a single layer up to 6×4 in three layers
- Both wrap-around and high-wall tray packing formats
We collaborated with Meypack to ensure the case packing machine was seamlessly integrated into Ziwi Pets’ production line. We handled full line control and integration with upstream and downstream equipment. We made sure the machine was thoroughly pre-tested and attended the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) before shipment. We supported Ziwi Pets during various phases of the project, from installation to on-site testing of the machine.
The case packer gives Ziwi Pets the flexibility to manage multiple can sizes and formats efficiently.
