Flexible multi-packing solution
By supplying a flexible, single-machine multipacking solution for OTO and fully enclosed carton packs, we saved floor space, reduced shipping costs, and created efficient, recyclable packaging adaptable to Remedy Drinks’ evolving production needs.
The project
Remedy Drinks is an Australian beverage brand known for natural, sugar-free, health-focused drinks, including its market-leading kombucha. Remedy Drinks wanted to introduce a new carton pack style (fully enclosed) to increase sales volumes and enhance marketing impact. They approached us in 2022 to help them find a flexible beverage carton packaging solution.
Key requirements:
- Flexible packaging machine that adapts to their evolving requirements
- Capable of running multiple formats (OTO and fully enclosed)
- Fit seamlessy into their new factory in Dandendong South
Together with our partner Paker Group, we delivered a complete, single-machine multipacking solution to meet Remedy Drinks’ needs and requirements. Because of our strong relationships with carton suppliers and our deep knowledge of carton materials, the new solution forms multipacks from flat carton blanks directly on the machine, instead of pre-glued, taking up less space and lower shipping costs.
The carton multipacking machine:
- Packs 4, 6, 8, or 10 cartons in both OTO (Over-the-Top Open) and FUL (Fully Enclosed) formats
- Handles flat cardboard instead of pre-glued
We managed the project from concept to commissioning, including:
- Machine solution concept
- Carton packaging design
- Application and supplier selection
- Installation, testing, and commissioning
The outcome was a very efficient packaging machine in an overall line. Unlike other solutions that required two machines and complex conveyors, our solution is compact and efficient.
- One packaging machine capable of multiple pack formats
- Avoiding the cost and complexity of installing multiple machines
- Significant floor-space savings
- 100% recyclable multipacks
- Flat-packed cartons improve pallet utilization and reduce transport volume
